Meridian terms of service
These terms cover the free Meridian application and, when you subscribe, the optional Meridian Hub service operated by ncdLabs.
Who we are
Meridian is provided by ncdLabs / Louis Grossi (“ncdLabs”, “we”). Contact: privacy@ncdlabs.com for privacy questions; use the product support channels listed on the Meridian product page for support.
The Meridian app (free)
The Meridian client apps for desktop and mobile are provided free of charge. Shipping builds are client-only: they do not embed a hub daemon. You may use the app in Standalone mode on your device. Always-on Connected features require a Meridian Hub subscription (see below). There is no customer self-hosted Hub offering.
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. ncdLabs is not responsible for third-party provider services (Home Assistant, Tuya, Arlo, and others) that you choose to connect.
Meridian Hub (optional subscription)
Meridian Hub is an optional ncdLabs-hosted always-on Connected service. It is sold as a $15 USD per month auto-renewable subscription. On the App Store and Google Play you subscribe in the app (Apple In-App Purchase / Google Play Billing). On ncdLabs.com and direct desktop downloads you may also subscribe via our website payment provider (Stripe). There is no free trial. Hub provides 24/7 monitoring and alerts when the app is closed, detailed reporting, and alerts when devices join or leave the monitored network. Account identity for Hub is your email address. Hub runs on ncdLabs infrastructure; subscribers do not install or operate their own Hub server.
Store subscriptions renew and cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Website subscriptions renew and cancel through the Stripe customer billing portal linked from ncdLabs.com. Taxes may apply where we or the store are required to collect them. Apple and Google may charge their standard commissions on store purchases.
Hub service availability, backups, and support levels will be described on the Hub product page when the service is generally available. Until then, Hub is not offered as a purchasable product.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your device unlock credentials and Hub access tokens confidential.
- Comply with the terms of any third-party providers you connect.
- Do not abuse, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to ncdLabs systems or other customers’ Hub tenants.
- Ensure you have the right to monitor and control devices on networks you scan or manage with Meridian.
Account deletion
You can delete your Meridian account from the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). See the privacy policy for what deletion removes on-device and on a Connected runtime.
Acceptable use
Do not use Meridian or Meridian Hub for unlawful surveillance, attacks on systems you do not own or administer, or to violate others’ privacy or computer-fraud laws.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ncdLabs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of Meridian or Meridian Hub. Our total liability for any claim relating to the free app is limited to zero (the app is free). Liability relating to a paid Hub subscription is limited to the fees you paid to ncdLabs for Hub in the three months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms for that use. Material changes to paid Hub terms will be communicated to subscribers where required.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
