What Meridian connects to

Support varies by provider and device. Some connections stay entirely on your network; others rely on the provider’s own service.

Home Assistant

Bring Home Assistant rooms, entities, and controls into Meridian.

Tuya

Connect compatible Tuya devices through the provider integration.

Amazon Alexa

Link compatible Alexa Smart Home devices after granting Amazon permission.

Arlo Cloud

Connect compatible Arlo cameras and security devices through the Arlo cloud integration.

Local network

Find supported equipment through Meridian’s LAN discovery.

Meridian is local-first, but it cannot make a cloud-based device local. When an integration depends on Home Assistant, Tuya, Amazon, Arlo, or another provider, that provider’s own connection and privacy terms still apply.

What “local-first” means here

Meridian runs on hardware you control and keeps its application data there. Standalone mode does not require Meridian Hub. Hub is optional when you want always-on Connected features.

Local Application Data

Meridian keeps its configuration and synchronized device information on the device you run.

Optional Meridian Hub

If you subscribe to Meridian Hub, Connected sync and always-on monitoring run on ncdLabs-hosted infrastructure for your account.

What Connected Providers Receive

Cloud-based providers may still receive requests and data needed to operate their integrations.

This marketing page uses Google Analytics to measure page visits and download clicks. Those website analytics do not include your Meridian configuration or smart-home device data.

From Download to First Device

When desktop builds reopen, Meridian starts free on your device. Add Meridian Hub later if you want 24/7 monitoring.

Step 1

Install Meridian

When desktop downloads reopen, get the installer for your platform, then open Meridian on your device.

Step 2

Connect a Provider

Add a supported smart-home service or discover supported equipment on your network.

Step 3

Organize Your Home

Review rooms and devices, then create the scenes and alerts you want to use.

Questions before you install

Do I need a Meridian cloud account?

No. You can run Meridian in Standalone mode on your device without Meridian Hub. Connected providers may still require their own accounts. Meridian Hub is optional for always-on Connected features.

Does every integration work without the internet?

No. Meridian can keep its own data local, but integrations built on a provider’s cloud still need that provider’s service.

How much does Meridian cost?

The Meridian app is free on all devices—Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android. Optional Meridian Hub is $15/month for 24/7 monitoring and alerts (not just while the app is open), detailed reporting, and alerts when devices join or leave the monitored network. Hub is ncdLabs-hosted (in-app purchase or Stripe on desktop web). There is no customer self-hosted Hub product.

What does Meridian Hub include?

Meridian Hub provides 24/7 monitoring and alerts when the app is closed, detailed reporting, and alerts when devices join or leave the monitored network. It is sold as a $15/month subscription.

How do I install it?

When desktop downloads reopen (Windows and Linux packages caught up to the current macOS line), choose the installer for your platform, then follow the installation guide.

Is Meridian a replacement for Home Assistant?

Not necessarily. Meridian can connect to Home Assistant and provide a separate desktop view. You can also use Meridian with other supported providers and local discovery.

Where are the mobile versions?

iPhone and Android use the same free Meridian client. Store listings are not public yet. Optional Meridian Hub is a separate $15/month subscription on every platform.
